How to Support Carmel Schools and Teachers This Year

Great schools are at the heart of great communities — and Carmel, Indiana, is no exception. As both a Carmel Realtor and a proud resident, I’m passionate about supporting our local educators, students, and families.

If you’re new to the area or simply want to get more involved, there are many ways to make a meaningful difference.

Ways to Support Carmel Clay Schools

1. Volunteer Your Time
Carmel Clay Schools welcome volunteers for classroom help, library support, and extracurricular programs. To maintain a safe environment, volunteers complete a background check every three years ($12.95 fee) and an anti-bullying training video."

2. Donate Supplies or Funds
Many teachers spend their own money on supplies. Donating through the Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) helps fund grants, classroom resources, and student programs.

3. Attend School Events
Show your school spirit by attending concerts, athletic events, and fundraisers. Carmel High School and other local schools thrive on community participation.

4. Join the PTA or PTO
Becoming part of your school’s parent organization gives you a direct way to impact student success and enhance classroom programs.

5. Offer Mentorship
Carmel Clay Schools encourage professionals and community members to share their expertise. Mentoring students — academically or through career exploration — builds confidence and real-world readiness.

6. Support Fundraisers and Drives
Each year, schools and local groups organize events like teacher wish lists, backpack drives, and Riley Hospital for Children fundraisers. Participating helps families and students in need.

Why It Matters

Investing in education builds stronger neighborhoods, raises property values, and fosters lasting community pride. When we help our schools, we’re investing in the future of Carmel and Central Indiana.

If you’d like to learn more about local volunteer or donation opportunities, I’m always happy to share how my family and clients get involved in the Carmel Clay Schools community.
